NOMAN is an Island: Race to End HPV and Prevent 5% of Cancers
Since 2013 NOMAN has been challenging participants to races that require as much mental grit as physical strength. All for one cause: to end 5% of cancers.
The human papillomavirus (HPV) causes 5% of cancers worldwide and 80% of people will come into contact with the virus at some point in their lives. The majority of HPV-related cancers can be prevented simply by vaccinating boys and girls against this devastating virus.
From record-breaking ocean rows, to riding up some of the most infamous climbs in cycling; NOMAN challenges participants to an array of endurance events all with one common theme: their uniqueness. NOMAN has raised more than $2 million and attained press coverage on a national and international scale. Previous events have included:
- Trois Etapes Giro pro-am (winners 2015)
- Trois Etapes Tour pro-am (winners 2015)
- Barcelona – Ibiza: Row to End HPV 2013, 2015
- The Great Pacific Race 2014 (the youngest crew to cross the mid-Pacific route)
