The Anal Cancer Foundation is proud to be partnered with several important institutions advancing the fight against anal cancer, and our work with the Anal Neoplasia Clinic Research and Education (ANCRE) Center is no different.
ANCRE
Part of the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, The ANCRE Center is recognized globally for its pioneering work and leadership as the world’s first clinic devoted to the prevention of anal cancer. It is a world leader in research and education of clinicians performing high resolution anoscopy (HRA, the technique currently thought to be the best for detecting precancerous lesions and anal cancer) and treatment of anal precancer to prevent progression to cancer.
The ANCRE Center also connects Thrivers to providers who have been trained in HRA and hosts a state-by-state HRA provider locator to make it easy for Thrivers to find clinics on their own.
ACF has supported ANCRE in the past, with advocacy surrounding the ANCHOR study, which is led by UCSF and seeks to improve detection and screening of anal cancer.
Most recently, our collaboration with ANCRE took us to the magical world of Disney Pixar, where we, alongside Thrivers, researchers, medical providers, and their friends and loved ones took in a pre-release screening of the latest film, Onward. The evening raised over $20,000 for each organization and will be used to directly benefit the much-needed programs, trainings, and advocacy of both ACF and ANCRE.
We are glad to be part of this fruitful relationship with such a dedicated center of anal cancer excellence.
