MC900442018-150x150Want to connect with others in the anal cancer community?

Would you benefit from a friendly ear?

Do you want to help other anal cancer thrivers?

Wishing you had a bum buddy?

These are all great reasons to join the Peer Support Program!

The Anal Cancer Foundation will launch a Peer Support Program this winterTo register your interest in participating once the program launches, please fill out our contact form or send an email to info@www.analcancerfoundation.org!

The Peer Support Program is a free service provided by The Anal Cancer Foundation that will match people living with anal cancer with each other.  It will allow for peers facing challenges brought on by anal cancer to connect with a mentor who has had a similar journey.

Mentors can provide peers with guidance and experiential knowledge. Discussing experiences that are unique to anal cancer and anal cancer treatments can offer participants comfort, support, and insight.  The program will be available to both thrivers (our word for survivors) and caregivers.

Our goal is to foster long lasting, self-sustaining connections that build a community of people who understand the anal cancer experience!

Peers may find it useful to discuss:

  • Diagnosis
  • Coping strategies
  • How to talk to family and loved ones about anal cancer
  • Managing side effects, both immediate and long-term
  • Tools for talking with physicians
